Alleppey

Alappuzha, also known as Alleppey is considered to be the oldest planned city in this region and the lighthouse built on the coast of the city is the first of its kind. A city with picturesque canals, backwaters, beaches, and lagoons, it was described as the one of the places known as the "Venice of the East" by Lord Curzon.  The Backwaters of Alappuzha are the most popular tourist attraction in Kerala.

This is a unique opportunity to leisurely explore and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Kerala. The backwaters consist of a network of lakes; coconut shaded canals and estuaries – tiled and thatched cottages bright with hibiscus dot the embankments and the cantilevered Chinese fishing nets hang over the water. Witness local life with children swimming and playing in the water, women attending to their daily chores and men fishing from their canoes.

To Enjoy Backwaters, the best option is to embark your exclusive House Boat for overnight stay. The houseboats that we use are simply furnished and consist of a thatch-covered lounge/dining area; One or Two bedrooms with attached bathrooms and all modern amenities. Thatched awnings on both sides of the boat allow the breeze and views to flow in. Meals are cooked on board and the house boat is staffed with a captain cum deck hand and a cook. (There will be an onboard engine for functioning Air conditioning in the bedrooms for night in Deluxe House Boats and centralized  air conditioning in premiums categories)
